Current Employer: WOOD Magazine
Majors: Magazine Journalism & Graphic Design
Expected Graduation: May 2015
Kayli Kunkel is a senior at Drake University double majoring in graphic design and magazine journalism. Though she grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, and fell hard for Des Moines, she has bigger city dreams in the works. Kayli spent last year in Meredith’s Creative Collection designing for quilting titles like American Patchwork & Quilting and Quilts & More. She’s excited to trade in the sewing machine for a chainsaw at WOOD Magazine for the 2014-2015 year. Kayli spent the summer interning for the Des Moines Arts Festival and Drake’s Community Engagement & Service-Learning Department. This year, she works as Art Director for Drake Magazine as well as DUiN Magazine, and she helps manage Drake’s first co-ed a cappella group, Fermata the Blue. In her (rare) free time, Kayli works as a freelance designer, rocks out ukulele tunes, and cooks vegetarian food experiments. Feel free to look her up on LinkedIn, Facebook, or kayli-kunkel.com—she would love to chat!
